Last night in Mexico and only my second blog this week – wow!
It’s not as easy as I thought it would be to access the Internet and find time to blog. This is a good thing I suppose, but I’m very nervous about getting in the scale when I return from vacation. I may have to give myself a break and wait till Friday so I can take some time to get back to normal. My biggest failing this week: one day in dessert mode and I really think you cannot be on a beach vacation without partaking in the celebration of vacation which alcohol is a central part of. I did find a drink I like. The only negative is the sugar that is muddled with limes. The only other incredient is vodka – yum! I’ve been asking for media de sugar or half the sugar – no accounting for my spelling. The name of the drink is capairoska.
I hve made it to the gym every day but Wednesday since we left at the crack of dawn (not really, but early) for an excursion to a park. I got some built in exercise since we rode the zip lines which required a bit of walking and quite a few stairs to climb. It was no stairmaster workout, but it was better than nothing. Oh, we also rode in some canoe like boats that required padddling and I’m pretty sure me and my friend were paddling against one another adding to the workout.
Other than that (alcohol, buffets, some dessert, a spa day and the beach) it’s been a great vacation. I must say I am looking forward to returning home tomorrow, sleeping in my own comfy bed, and getting to my gym to make up for my vacation fun.
I think the biggest challenge has been that everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) thinks it’s okay to go nuts and cheat when you are on vacation so with all the temptations pretty much anyone is doomed to fail (or let’s not be so harsh and just say cheat a bit). The good news is that tomorrow is the first day of the rest if my life!!
